Phil Thompson
Phil Thompson continues to gain recognition as an internationally acclaimed pop pianist and vocalist – creating both original songs and unique arrangements of adult contemporary hits. Phil’s expression and passion for performing come through in all of his works – artistically blending the sounds and styles from some of his biggest inspirations: Elton John, Lionel Richie, Bruce Hornsby and Michael Buble to name a few. Phil’s latest album “Love Themes from the Silver Screen” consistently ranks on the iTunes “Top 20” love themes charts across the globe.
Phil is currently residing in Los Angeles, California where he recently completed a year-long residency at world-renowned Crustacean Restaurant in Beverly Hills. This residency helped position Phil as one of the top performers in Beverly Hills, leading to a number of television appearances including Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing”. Adding to his many performances around the globe (from Mandalay Bay and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, to the Royal Imperial Palace in Vienna, the Roger’s Cup in Toronto and at the Historic Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis), Phil most recently returned to the US Open Tennis Tournament in New York for the third year in a row as the featured performer in their hospitality pavilion, performing 14 special nightly concert events. Additionally, Phil has been seen when joining his friends and fellow artists The Canadian Tenors (as seen on Oprah and Dr. Phil) on several of their recent tour stops. Phil is also gaining additional visibility as a digital piano instructor through his popular “Learn to Play Piano” iPad / iPhone app, co-produced with Mahalo Studios in Hollywood, which is currently in the hands of over 250,000+ aspiring pianists across the globe.
Phil is also a highly sought-after producer whose credits include the music for the Fox television series “Blueprint for Green”, the soundtrack for the PBS documentary “Footsteps – a Journey in Faith”, the benefit single for the 35W Bridge Collapse and American Red Cross Final Ride Home, and the debut solo album for Broadway performer Connie Kunkle (Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Fontaine in Les Miserables). Additionally, Phil continues to serve as the executive producer for the charity album and concert event “Holiday Lights LIVE!” which after 4 years in operation has helped raise $2500,000 for a number of charities in Phil’s home state of Minnesota.
When not performing or in the studio, Phil is an accomplished television host and actor who has appeared nationally on numerous programs including Shop NBC for their music and entertainment segments, PBS for some of their high profile pledge drives (including Tony Bennett, Yanni Voices, The Canadian Tenors, and Clay Aiken to name a few), and also on the hit CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
